We have started our big fall semester "project"/assignment. We are doing a Bible project where we basically create a detailed outline to use when we teach an overview of the entire Bible.. It is so exciting! Preparing and working on this assignment is so great because I am learning SO much! It is so fun to piece the Bible together, to understand it and to see the big picture! If anyone would ever want to do the walk through with me, I WOULD LOVE TO! When we teach it helps us learn!!
During out time at the Kanakuk Institute we are placed in an internship. The internship is either with a church or a para church organization, majority of us working with youth. I was placed in Hollister with three other interns, we are one of the small intern crews. The staff guy Travis has done some awesome things with the kids in Hollister. God has used him in really neat ways. I have had the opportunity to meet with some senior girls and walk with them through some struggles, and have loved getting to see them grow during the small time I have been here so far. I recently got to join and help start an 8th grade small group. We meet Thursday mornings at 7 and are discussing current issues. I am so excited for this!
This upcoming week we are discussing current issues of homosexuality, cutting and suicide. We are also doind Daniel with Joe White and a few other topics throughout the week. On top of our fun class schedule we are having a spirit week!! We are dressing up in different outfits everyday! We are also having a powder puff and flag football tournament this week as well!! We are so excited! Teams are already planning on meeting for practice to prepare, we like to take things seriously!
Things are GREAT here! I will try and do more brief updates, maybe focused on one topic. But I am excited to continue to update you on what the Lord is doing here at the Kanakuk Institute!!
